The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter
The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter

A comedy about baking, beliefs, and when to stop following the recipe.

All is going well for Della. Her North Carolina bakery is legendary and she's just been cast on her favorite television baking competition. But then, her late-best-friend's daughter comes home from New York City to ask her to make a cake for her upcoming wedding. When Della learns that Jen's about to marry a woman, she is forced to re-examine her deeply held beliefs, as questions of morals, judgment and family swirl around them all. This emotional and deliciously funny play was created by Bekah Brunstetter, writer and producer of NBC's "This is Us".

Talented writer Bekah Brunstetter has found all the right ingredients to create a compassionate comedy - the kind of crowd-pleasing confection that audiences will eat up greedily. ~ Theatre Pizzazz

We at As If are monitoring the updates regarding COVID-19  in our area. Relying on the most up-to-date information, we will prioritize the safety of our community, audience, staff, artists and volunteers by communicating any changes quickly.

Currently, The Cake will go on as scheduled.  Our company will take these steps to ensure the safety of our patrons and volunteers:

* Cleaning the theatre and rehearsal spaces with a disinfectant cleanser prior to shows and rehearsals
* Requiring the use of hand sanitizer or hand washing for all patrons prior to them entering the facility
* Reducing the number of tickets available per show so that you can have an empty seat between you and someone you don't know
* Requesting those persons ill, exposed to someone who is ill, or with health concerns to abstain from attending
* Granting refunds to patrons unable to attend

In the event of a cancellation, we will notify all ticket-holders as soon as possible, at which time exchanges or refunds will be given. For any questions, please email admin@asiftheatre.com.
